Great place, but absolutely no cell reception! Seriously, no reception so if you are planning a get together make sure everyone has a satellite photo of where to meet up. I had people looking for us for over an hour. There are two land line pay phones if absolutely necessary. Alright, that aside, the place is great. The picnic areas are spacious, the park is clean, they have a small gift shop that sells bags of ice. They have kayak and paddle boarding rentals. They water is calm so kayaking is nice. Oh and they have life guards, and fully functional rest rooms with changing areas. There are multiple parking lots, so again, if you are planning a gathering I highly recommend getting situated beforehand. Have fun.
Gorgeous park with beautiful trails and a lake. Simple campsites. You do feel like you've gotten away from everything up here. If making camping reservations, it's better to go through the website. You can only book same-day plus one additional night when you come to reserve in person.
Do not bring your own boat!!!!!!!
Beautiful place to come with your family for a nice swim, kayaking, or even a boat ride. We came here and did all of these. Enjoyed to the full. Beautiful view.
The inspection rules are so strict the inspectors boat fail. A single drop of condensation will keep you out of the water. Today it was raining in Walnut Creek and so our cover and carpets got wet. It was not yet raining here and so the ‘rain protocol was not in effect. Your boat will not pass the non refundable inspection and no refunds for the inspections. It’s like they want you to have to rent their boats. Do not bring your boat.!!!!!
A lovely place for a picnic with friends and family. You can catch glimpse of deer if you're lucky. Lovely lake for kayaking on mild weather days.
